In this
entry in the Heritage Series, we look back at
steam on the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy and Colorado & Southern.
The show begins at the end of the steam era with the
last of mainline steam on the Burlington Route, Burlington Mikes on the Bevier
& Southern, and the last C&S steam on the Climax branch.
Then we move on to excursions with 4-8-4 Northern
#5632 and 2-8-2 Mikado #4960 in the early sixties. We see the trains trackside,
pace alongside both engines at speed, and ride the trains.
The program features vintage 8mm film combined with
authentic CB&Q audio, some of which was recorded while the scenes were
being filmed.
